Azienda Agricola Ramoino
The Ramoino Family
We have been transforming the grapes of our D.O.C. vineyards in Western Liguria into emotions for three generations:
Rossese di Dolceacqua, Ormeasco di Pornassio,
Pigato and Vermentino from the Riviera Ligure di Ponente
Azienda Agricola Ramoino | 1950s
It all began in the 1950s when Giuseppe Ramoino married Angela and discovered, and fell in love with, the Pigato produced by her father-in-law, Tilò. A double love at first sight which convinced him to start his own commercial farm and to build a completely new underground cellar in Sarola, behind Imperia, dedicated to the production of Pigato and Vermentino, turning their grapes and those supplied by the various winemakers from the valley into wines. His wines are appreciated and requested by the best Ligurian restaurants.
Azienda Agricola Ramoino | 1980s
Their children Domenico and Carla become enthusiasts and decide, we are in the 80s now, to continue in the management and expansion of the Azienda Agricola Ramoino. Carla soon leaves Sarola and crosses Capo Berta to Diano Marina and, with her new family, creates the Ustaia du Nin, from her father Giuseppe’s nickname.
Domenico Ramoino, backed up by his eclectic wife Elvira, continues and expands the business in the vineyards and in the cellar and, with their sparkling convivial spirit, they add a restaurant to the cellar, to share the emotions of the wines they produce with friends.
Azienda Agricola Ramoino | Today
Today Domenico and Elvira are flanked by their children Fabrizio, Fabiana and son-in-law Danilo. The third generation, excited by the Rossese wine, expanded production by acquiring new vineyards and a cellar in Dolceacqua.
And in the meantime, in Sarola, the fourth generation plays between the vineyards and the barrels.
